CCR Task 4
Post-Production
Software
We used Premier Pro to edit. We applied techniques we learnt in our editing workshop for our opening sequence.

We started with reminding ourselves of the format and basic shortcuts for Premier Pro. This was stuff like, C for cut and V for arrow. While previewing footage we used the short cut ‘I’ to select which part of the shot we wanted select. We went through our rushes and dragged the shots we liked onto the timeline. We then began cutting and putting together our shots in a linear order. We altered the speed at the start of the sequence to be slower, to portray the main female actress to be in sock, as if it didn’t feel real for her. Then as the backwards tracking shot began, we gradually increased the speed until it was the normal playback speed. Another choice we made was to include a reverse shot to make it look like the male actor had been hit badly with the hammer. We did the same motion, one shot without gory makeup and one with. We then placed the shots next to each other on the timeline. We had the first shot without the gory makeup as the hammer went into the air, we then attempted to seamlessly cut to the second shot in reverse as the hammer came down, so it looked like the hammer had created the blood on the victim's forehead. We did this in hopes that it made our protagonist look like a ruthless, experienced killer.
In terms of sound, we added in foley sounds to match the visuals. We included sounds of victims falling, hammers hitting people, guns clicking, heavy breathing and genral fighting noises. Once we had paired the foley sounds to the sequence we used a low level of air conditioning for a base sound. Then, over the top we added uncopyrighted club music. We added reverb and used a template to make the music sound ambient, as though it is music in the club rather than a soundtrack. We did this to make our sequence more realistic and to make the audience feel as though they we are in club with the characters.

In post production we also added titles. We used a white, thick font so they were easily readable. We then

Online
We used Youtube to publish our final opening sequence. This is a good platform because it is easily accessible for the public to watch and also easy to link on other websites or our blog. Youtube is good because it is quick and free, so we didn't need to pay any extra fees to upload our sequence.
Hardware
We edited our sequence on an Apple iMac. We used these computers because they already had Premier Pro downloaded and ready to go in the school. These computers are also very reliable and quick to work on. This was useful as we only had a limited amount of time to get our editing finished.
