CCR Task 4

Hardware

In our opening sequence we used a tripod, titan tubes, a memory card, and a mic during our test shoot. Most importantly we used a Black Magic 4k mini URSA camera. We applied skills we learnt in our workshops on the shoot day.
Before we started setting up the cameras we placed the Titan Tubes behind the actors tied to the back wall, this gave the location a club atmosphere. We then set the lights up behind the camera to light the actors. We used our knowledge from our independent research on how to film with neon lights to make the lighting interesting by having a blue wash on the right side of her face and pink of the left. In the action scenes we had flashing lights to make the fighting more intense.
At the beginning of our opening sequence, we zoomed into the subject's eye, focused with the 1st ring, and then zoomed out again so that the whole shot was in focus. We played around with the exposure and white balance so the camera adjusted to our neon lighting. We then framed Hannah applying the rule of thirds. Following that we did a backwards tracking shot with the camera balanced on a wheely chair.

Later in the shoot we performed a moving focus pull which required two crew members. While Saskia moved the camera following Ted's hammer, I changed the focus in the midst of the movement so the whole shot was in focus.
Further into the sequence when we wanted a balanced, stable shot we set up the tripod. By doing this we adjusted the legs to the same height as the actors and bubbled the camera so it was level.

On shoot day we used a range of different hardware to create our final opening sequence.

Software
We used google docs to create a spread sheet for our test shoot and shot list. This software helped us stay organised as we printed them out for our shoot day. We created a table which all of us could access and edit with all our shoot day information. We knew what shots we wanted and in what order. By doing this it allowed time at the end to do a few more experimental shots, this is because we were so organised.

Online
We used WhatsApp on the shoot day to communicate with each other and our actors. This was useful to make sure everyone was on time and had all their props and costumes. WhatsApp was good to use because it is free and you can call and text.
